All Guilds Meeting - August 2014

With Mysterium behind us, it was time to finally have this month's All Guilds Meeting!  This one was packed with all kinds of info about what went on at last week's fan-led convention, as well as updates in the cavern as well.  Of course, no AGM summary would be complete without the obligatory raw and cleansed chatlogs.

Here's a condensed version of what happened...known far and wide as a "summary": laugh

Calum Traveler - Mysterium Attendee

Cal was up first to talk about this year's Mysterium, which he himself attended and enjoyed.  He included many personal anecdotes of his time there as well as brief summaries of what he saw at the presentations.  For his full tale, you can read the previously linked chatlogs or see pictures at his DeviantArt gallery.  For another recap of Mysterium's various presentations, you can read Lunanne's recently published article at The Cavern Post.

The Open Cave Releases v2.17 of MOUL Shard

Just a little over a month since their last update, the team over at The Open Cave released version 2.17 of their MOUL shard!  Changes for this update include:

  • Picture contest winners in CoD
  • Unidentified Object sighted in CoD
  • Timestamps for chat can be enabled in the KI
  • Minor fixes

To update your installation, simply run the client as you normally would and let it download.  If you haven't installed the shard yet, here's some easy instructions on how to do so.

Keep watching our site for more developments on open source projects!

All Guilds Meeting: Special Session

Hiya, my fellow explorers...

Just a quick reminder that the normally scheduled All Guilds Meeting has been postponed. Although usually held the first Saturday of each month, this conflicts with the annual Mysterium convention being held in Spokane, WA the same weekend.

As several noteworthy events are planned for participants there, the raindate was chosen to await and later report new and exciting informational tidbits which may develop during the convention.

The AGM will now be held on Saturday, the 9th of August, 2014, at 13:00 KI-time (19:00GMT) in the Kirel auditorium.

Doobes and the GoMe team are looking forward to seeing you there!

All Guilds Meeting - July 2014

This month's All Guilds Meeting was a bit more laid back and free-form due to the lack of presenters, but a few tidbits of news ended up making their way into the proceedings.  As always, we have the raw and cleansed chatlogs for you to read if you missed out.

KathAveara

Kath was up first to update everyone on the two big projects on which she's been working.  The first is her reimagining of the Book of Atrus.  She plans to put the project on hold until better sources of material are available before she continues on; for example, a better idea of the path from the surface to D'ni.

Secondly, the Guild of Linguists' D'ni Language Restoration Project is still in need of talented individuals to help expand the D'ni language.  This project has been endorsed by Cyan's Richard "RAWA" Watson, so head on over and lend a hand!
